On the afternoon of August 23, 2026, the Fairview Mall Theatre at the Toronto Public Library was bustling with activity and filled with music as the inaugural Toronto “Water Cube Cup” Choral Competition successfully concluded. The competition was hosted by the Toronto Water Cube Cultural & Arts Centre, the Canadian Beijing Association, the Fengcai Arts Association, and Canada Newstar Talent, and co-organized by numerous arts groups, community organizations, and choirs.
For many years, the Toronto Water Cube Cultural & Arts Centre has been committed to promoting Chinese music culture, successfully hosting the “Culture China Water Cube Cup” Chinese Song Competition, which has become one of the most influential Chinese vocal competitions in Toronto. Many outstanding singers have grown here, progressing from the Canadian stage to the international stage.
Past outstanding contestants have represented the Toronto region in the global finals in Beijing, winning numerous gold, silver, and bronze awards, fully demonstrating the artistic strength of Chinese Canadian musicians.
To further promote the prosperity of Canadian music, arts, and multiculturalism, the Toronto Water Cube Chinese Song Competition Organizing Committee has once again achieved great success by proudly launching the inaugural “Water Cube Cup” Toronto Choral Competition. Choir singing is a perfect fusion of teamwork and artistic expression, an art form where different voices converge to create a shared dream. The Toronto Chinese community boasts numerous choral groups of different ages; this choral competition is sure to attract even more music lovers. The event aims to establish itself as a high-level choral competition brand for the Canadian Chinese community, providing a professional, fair, and authoritative platform for outstanding choral groups to showcase their talents and exchange ideas.
Due to the large number of participating choral groups, the organizing committee has divided this year’s competition into three sessions, with the first session held on August 23rd.
